Title:	LZmE_296 - 'Mulombwa' or 'Mukwa' flowers & seed pods, Middle Luangwa Valley, E Zambia
Caption:	'Mulombwa' or 'Mukwa', Pterocarpus angolensis, is a medium density mahogany hardwood much prized for furniture-making. In Zambia, it has been extensively logged, often illegally. Much of the logged timber is exported to South Africa in its raw or relatively unworked forms. It occurs naturally in South Africa, where it is known as 'kiaat', but there, it is a completely protected species, so creating high demand for the mukwa from neighbouring countries.
