Amenshi
[Water]
The theme of this exhibition is the photographer's impressions of this abundant and most vital of Central Africa's natural resources - 'Amenshi' [Water].
Zambia is located directly astride the watershed between two vast river basins - the Congo Basin system and the Zambezi Basin system. In the panoramic photography of Zambia's stunning wild scenery, the exhibition features, and contrasts, the landscape of these major river systems that make Zambia the most important source of fresh water in the Central and Southern Africa region.
Many millions of Africans, especially those in remote rural areas, depend entirely and very directly on these habitats for their day-to-day survival. The billions of donor aid dollars given to the many schemes to promote poverty alleviation and human health and welfare, can only succeed in the long term if there is more awareness and real action on the very environment which so directly supports the threatened 'target' populations.
