Lunsemfwa Rivers,     E Zambia

The Musikili Art Exhibition & Auction has become major Arts event in Zambia, and a popular one for art lovers and collectors.

Each October, a wide range of artists is invited to submit work for exhibition and silent auction at the National Museum in Lusaka, Zambia.

The exhibition is organised and hosted by the Musikili School, a farming community school located in Mazabuka, in Zambia’s Southern Province.  As well as supporting the Arts in Zambia, the event is a fundraiser for the school and selected Mazabuka charities.

At the 2004 exhibition, seven ‘Spirit of the Land’ and wildlife study works (shown here) were exhibited.  They were a sell-out at auction, fetching prices up to twice the reserve asking price.
