This was a solo exhibition of the
photographer’s panoramics of remote Zambian landscapes and the
exhibition debut of the Spirit of the Land project.
The exhibition was a selection
from the work done on several bush trips over the first year of
the project.
It was shown at the invitation of
the Cooperation and Cultural Service of the French Government
and it won the generous support of the French Government, the
French Embassy and the Alliance Française. The work was
exhibited at the Alliance Française Centre in Lusaka, and then in
a joint exhibit with the painter, Quentin Allen, at the Maramba
River Lodge in Livingstone, Zambia.
Over 1000 people visited the
exhibition, to wide acclaim and high demand for the limited
edition, fine art prints.
Exhibition Visitor Comments:
The Photographer says that
putting a Visitors Book out at an exhibition can be a two-edged
sword. The complimentary comments are gratifying; the not so
complimentary ones important and skin-thickening; and the
ambiguous ones good fun.
Some comments from this
exhibition’s visitors’ book are noted below.
But first, the Photographer’s two
