The Franco-COMESA Club hosts the Franco COMESA Exhibition annually.  The 2004 exhibition presented artworks from painters, sculptors and photographers from DR Congo, Malawi, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

 

 

The club promotes cultural cooperation among the states of COMESA (Commonwealth of East and Southern Africa), and the French Government’s foreign policy of stimulating and supporting initiatives that preserve African cultural heritage and diversity.

 

The exhibition is compiled by inviting selected artists to submit a maximum of 3 works for selection by panels of judges.  The selection panels are:

 

‘Dialogues’ Association & Espace Culturel Francophone, Lubumbashi, DR Congo;

 

French Cultural Centre & La Caverna Gallery, Blantyre, Malawi; and,

 

The Lusaka Selection Panel, Zambia

 

Three ‘Spirit of the Land’ works were selected (shown here).
